Eine wohl kontroverse Bewertung, für manche zu hoch, für manche zu tief. In der Geschichte für Alice Cooper ein sehr wichtiges Album, Desmond Child hat, könnte man sagen, seine Karriere wiederbelebt. Natürlich ist „Poison“ das Aushängeschild des Albums, aber dahinter verbergen sich einige unterschätzte Songs, hauptsächlich „House of Fire“, „Why Trust You“ und die Ballade „Hell is Living Without You“. Auch der Rest des Albums ist gut. Gut, aber nicht hervorragend, viel wirkt nach Schema F geschrieben und klingt eher einheitlich als besonders. Wer sich die Highlights raussucht, lernt fantastische Musik kennen, diese sind es auch, die noch die gute Bewertung des Albums bringen, aber wer diese Schwächen nicht haben möchte, sollte sich am deutlich unterschätzten Nachfolger „Hey Stoopid“ probieren, auf dem der 80er (bzw streng genommen 90er) Alice Cooper perfektioniert wurde.
