In the past I probably would have rated this 5 stars. After revisiting it I think I crave a more raw and imperfect sound so I decided to rate it 4/5. Even though I don’t love it as much as I used to there are still amazing qualities about it that I can appreciate, such as the amazing production and mix. The drums cut through the mix so nicely and are layered with electronic samples giving the album a nice blend of rock and pop. The balance of the synths and guitars are also a highlight, the main thing I like about them being the tones. A lot of the synths are super smooth or brassy and then are complimented by a heavy distorted guitar playing a catchy riff.

absolute favorite forever, this album is the perfect mixture of alternative-rock elements, synthetic melodies and dreamy electronics. currents is so generational and one of a kind. no skips on the album at all.
