divine. truly, absolutely, divine. one of the best releases in the 2020s, an excellent album. i struggle to put into words how much i ADORE this album. simz is a star, a visionary, an incredible rapper, and an authentic role model.

standouts - woman (ft. cleo sol) / gems (interlude; ft. emma corrin) / point and kill (ft. obonjayar) / miss understood / literally ALL of the emma corrin features

this album and simz deserves all the love and accolades; simz needs her flowers yesterday!
One of the most deserved AOTYs in recent years. A valuable and intricate ode to the Black history inherent to country, born from the significance of 21st century racism within the country sphere itself. CC operates as a detailed navigation of Black music, utilising a range of Black genres to broaden and deepen the important thesis outlined by this beautiful album. 10s for the queen.
A great debut from a fantastic up and coming rock / alternative female / non binary band. Love how cohesive and creative this album is - the vocals of Abigail are incredible and hard-hitting, and the guitar skills of Emily Roberts really stand out overall, but my favourite Roberts moment is the instrumental break of ‘Portrait of a Deal Girl’; this song is arguably one of their best in their discography, even post-‘From the Pyre’. I love TLDP!! ❤️
