This just feels like a list of singles rather than a complete body of work typical of a pop album. If it wasn’t for such a stacked roster of people working on the writing, composing and production I don’t know if this would have been near as listenable. I find myself thinking most of the time do I enjoy the music because of the music or just because they have very skilled people working on the project, for example my favourite songs have Diplo, flume, jpegmafia and Mike will made-it.
On top of this they have names like Gregory Aldae Hein and Beau Nox which appear on albums from Drake and Miley Cyrus. This project feels overwhelming contrived, most of my most liked songs are the ones the contain more Korean than English. The push to appear to a wider global demographic and be more palatable to western audiences has created a more sanitary atmosphere with tracks like hooligan being like a mash up of stolen flows and samples.
Also why does the empty track No. 29 feel like they are trying to hit the 10min mark on a YouTube video…
