Queen behaviour!! Still cannot get over ‘Disease’ and ‘Zombieboy’. This stands out very well in Gaga’s discography. So so strong, amazing start to 2025.

Mayhem is chaos with intention. Dark, theatrical, and unapologetically maximalist, the album feels like Lady Gaga reclaiming disorder as creative fuel rather than shock value. It’s dramatic without being desperate, intense without chasing controversy. Sonically, the record blends industrial pop, dark electro, distorted dance beats, and cinematic pop structures. The production is dense and aggressive, but carefully layered, allowing hooks to cut through the noise. It feels confrontational yet polished, embracing excess while maintaining control. Lyrically, Mayhem explores identity fragmentation, desire, power, fame, and inner conflict. Gaga leans into symbolism and performative storytelling rather than confession, creating a world that feels stylized and volatile. The writing is sharp, sometimes cold, but conceptually committed. The 4.3 rating reflects ambition and execution with slight restraint. The album is cohesive in mood and vision, but its intensity can feel overwhelming across a full listen. Some tracks prioritize atmosphere over memorability, slightly limiting emotional attachment despite the strong aesthetic. Mayhem stands as a confident and artistically assertive chapter in Lady Gaga’s catalog. It doesn’t aim to be universally lovable; it aims to be precise, dramatic, and self-defined. The skip tracks are not bad songs but just songs that are less memorable.
