Honestly not that bad and genuinely for a set of 20 tracks even though the total play time is still that of an average 12-14 track album, there isn’t really any super bad track so the consistency is appreciated.

This album just didn’t feel like Sade, it’s ‘88 and she was already pretty big so maybe this just had too much industry influence. It definitely has far more of that 80’s pop sound than her last 2 albums. This album also just doesn’t provide as much lyrical depth and blues Sade had previously shown on her projects.
Coming from stronger than pride I find this album offers far more depth. Much more of the spotlight is put on sades vocal range and vocal power. A much more intimate experience than stronger than pride in my opinion which is the best part of listening to Sade.
One of my all time favourite albums. Truely recommend this to anyone who hasn’t listened to it before it’s a little more experimental than diamond life, offering a larger dynamic range and diversity of tracks.
Sade has the voice of an angel. With some amazing lyrics, singing and instrumentation it’s really hard for anyone to say this is not an amazing album. Sades voice just belongs to the somber tracks which she presides over. Her whole discography is sophisticated and soulful; the epitome of music. A generational talent.
Hang on to your love - long version is probably one of my all time favourite songs.

A very relaxing ambient style album, great sequence and composition. A great selection of synths and pads. Never heard anything from this artist before but this is a very well rounded project. Tasteful plugin and arpeggiation use which complement the theme.

Undoubtedly his best work in roughly the last decade. The first half of the album is much stronger than the second half, while the second half still has many solid tracks it just doesn’t feel as seamless as the first half maybe some filler tracks or leftovers from other projects. Really glad to hear Kanye return to something more grounded with the sampling which he is so good at. The album cover depicts the grit of the mix well. The sonic direction of the album I think is pretty good with a tasteful balance of clean and static distortion from just having no compression or clipper/limiter where some channels have clipping distortion which sounds like they turned down in post which add to the atmosphere of the project and set a nice tone. Listened to this over 3 times and really want to rate it higher but just can’t get past some of my less liked tracks in the second half.
Really exciting if you are a Kanye west fan. Unfortunately predicting if Kanye will continue to make good music is anyone’s guess. There are many songs which sound like he borrowed inspiration from his older albums which is funny since he loves himself so much. The lyrical content is surprisingly not as self indulgent as I was expecting and some of it is actually really nicely directed in a more positive light which makes me think Kanye is probably in a much better place than he once was. If that is any indication of stability then I have hope for future music.
Ceelo Greens feature in BULLY and many of the features are really great too and I assume they are likely heavily directed by Kanye which tells you he hasn’t lost his touch.

My favourite project from harry styles. If it truely was anything like real disco all the songs would have poor replay value. I like the 100 gecs album cover and the aphex twin Alberto balsalm moment. Unfortunately don’t find this album personally to have much depth but I’m not his target market though. The song paint by numbers reminds me of another song but I just don’t know what.
Watched the Netflix show of him preforming this with some band members and it looked pretty good live.

This just feels like a list of singles rather than a complete body of work typical of a pop album. If it wasn’t for such a stacked roster of people working on the writing, composing and production I don’t know if this would have been near as listenable. I find myself thinking most of the time do I enjoy the music because of the music or just because they have very skilled people working on the project, for example my favourite songs have Diplo, flume, jpegmafia and Mike will made-it.
On top of this they have names like Gregory Aldae Hein and Beau Nox which appear on albums from Drake and Miley Cyrus. This project feels overwhelming contrived, most of my most liked songs are the ones the contain more Korean than English. The push to appear to a wider global demographic and be more palatable to western audiences has created a more sanitary atmosphere with tracks like hooligan being like a mash up of stolen flows and samples.
Also why does the empty track No. 29 feel like they are trying to hit the 10min mark on a YouTube video…

For such a young artist this is a very impressive project. The whole album start to finish is very fun and the sequencing is not too bad. Looking forward to seeing what she does in the future, lots of potential!
There are some moments throughout the album where you notice her replicating other music that has been an influence to her. There are also some more nascent moments in here like the track Sing good, which are highly reflective of her youth and young career.

Soulful and classic blues.
Not my favourite Deftones album but one I hold with high regard. You can tell this is their first album because it has a more core feel and less commercial influence feels like it went into it compared to later albums even if it’s full of what might be considered by some as safer tracks. I think this album still holds value in 2026 more so than some of the other albums which have been appropriated.

I prefer this album over blood on the tracks every song feels more uniquely its own while complementarily contributing to the composition of the project as a whole. It would love to hear this album in full with all new masters maybe it would be better or maybe the roughness adds to the vibe. While the highs are not the same as some of the tracks from his other projects I think this is a better body of work overall.
My favourite tracks are all very close for this one.

For an album released in 1977 the production on this is very impressive the mix is very well balanced and full. The instrumentation is very well preformed and clean, the writing has a great marriage akin to my previous experience with sections from Blood on the tracks.
There is no clear drawbacks to this album it has great pace and sequencing I just wish it had some more standout moments for me. I think that’s what feels missing. Scenes from an Italian restaurant is hands down the most fun track, it really flex’s the prowess of the all the people that worked on this project, Not in the same way as Get it right the first time.

Wow! Really underwhelmed in the first half but the second half has some of the best writing I’ve heard. It’s peculiar that modern music just doesn’t see the same level of marriage between the vocals and instruments. I don’t consider myself a Bob Dylan enjoyer in fact his vocal inflections I find irritating and distracting from the music. I’m starting to mature on this and the more I listen the more I find it an enjoyable part of his character and his music and a stylistic quality in some tracks.
We need to bring harmonicas back. Modern country and blues could really own that sound.

Not sure how to describe it but from start to finish the project has a consistent thematic sound, hard to really know if it’s intended or just because it follows certain formulaic conventions and/or had limited sounds. The track order feels surprisingly well considered with interludes like This Fleeting Feeling followed by Swinging in His Cell which isn’t very heavy which breaks up the listening experience nicely. I’m sure if the PlayStation 2 start up audio makes you ruminate and lament this is right up your alley.

This album as of March 2026 to me feels like something a person that would say they enjoy King Crimson and consume reviews for their music opinion would lie about enjoying. I’m sure when it was released it probably would have been more enjoyable but for me there has been so many derivatives of this kind of music it makes it painful to sit through, the more experimental parts in the first 1/3 of the album give me a unpleasant cringe feel like it’s being pretentious.
The other 2/3rds of the album are where I think it really serves its intended purpose and were much more enjoyable for me.
Favourite tracks:

Section between the start and middle have thin feeing mix which really detract from how fun a track like uncle Albert is. Would have been nicer for the remaster to have made it sound more full like hey diddle. Not always possible. 70s era rock like this always feels more folky to me. There are a few songs that feel misplaced in this track list. Overall an easy listen very soothing with incredible rhythm. 4/5
