I MADE is ambition without full control. Bold, experimental, and conceptually restless, the album shows (G)I-DLE pushing hard to define their sound and image, but still struggling to balance cohesion with exploration. It’s daring, but uneven.
Sonically, the record blends dark pop, hip-hop, Latin influences, trap, and dramatic electro-pop with theatrical production. The sound jumps between moods and styles, creating striking highlights but also noticeable inconsistency. While some tracks are instantly iconic, others feel disconnected from the album’s core identity.
Lyrically, I MADE explores confidence, desire, power, seduction, heartbreak, and emotional tension. The writing is bold and persona-driven, often theatrical in tone. Soyeon’s narrative control remains strong, but emotional depth varies widely across tracks.
The 3.4-star rating reflects high peaks with weak cohesion. The album delivers some of (G)I-DLE’s most memorable singles and concepts, but as a full body of work it feels scattered and transitional. Several tracks feel more like experiments than parts of a unified vision.
I MADE stands as one of (G)I-DLE’s most chaotic early chapters. Ambitious, stylish, and conceptually daring, it shines in moments but lacks the structural strength to become a fully cohesive classic.
